This Privacy Policy describes how Return the Favor ("the App") handles information when you use it. The App is created and maintained by Nicholas White ("we," "us," or "the developer"). This policy applies to the iOS app (Return the Favor) and the website at returnthefavorapp.com.

What Information the App Stores

The App is designed to help you track gifts, occasions, and the people in your life. To do this, the App stores information that you choose to enter:

You enter this information voluntarily. The App does not access your device's contacts, photos, camera, or calendar without first requesting your permission, which you can grant or deny in iOS Settings at any time.

Where Your Data Is Stored

Your data is stored in two places:

On your device. The App keeps a local copy of your data on each device where you've installed it.

In your private iCloud account, via Apple's CloudKit. When you have iCloud enabled for the App, your data is automatically synced to Apple's CloudKit private database, which is associated with your personal Apple ID. This allows your data to sync across your devices (iPhone, iPad).

The developer does not have access to your data. Data stored in CloudKit's private database is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple, and only your Apple ID can read it. The developer cannot view, retrieve, or share your data. This is enforced by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure, not by us.

If you disable iCloud for the App in iOS Settings, your local data may be removed from your device. Your data remains in your iCloud account and can be restored by re-enabling iCloud sync.

Information the App Does Not Collect

To be explicit about what the App does NOT do:
